Final Fiduciary Disclosure Rule Requires July 1, 2012 Compliance

The U.S. Department of Labor has published its long-awaited final fiduciary disclosure regulation imposing new obligations for retirement plan fiduciaries under ERISA. The rule addresses the collection and evaluation of disclosure information from plan service providers. The final version of the rule diverges from the interim rule in several ways and should be reviewed for compliance well in advance of the July 1, 2012 effective date.
