About the Speakers

Kay Rivest Butler is an expert in her field, working with clients to undertake a thorough investigation, develop sound legal strategies, and ultimately deliver exceptional results. She specializes in commercial litigation, general liability, insurance coverage disputes, and the defense of professional liability claims, including: Employment Practices, Fiduciary Liability, Legal Malpractice, Directors & Officers (HOA/Condo), Education Law (Title IX), Insurance Agents / Brokers and Real Estate Brokers.

Ms. Butler is an experienced litigator who relies on her extensive legal experience in defending employers in state and federal court actions, including ERISA lawsuits and sex, race, age, and handicap discrimination claims, wrongful discharge claims, breach of fiduciary duty, minority shareholder oppression, and related tort claims. In addition, she has created and revised employment documents, including handbooks, applications, sexual harassment policies, and drug testing and absenteeism policies. She has also conducted workshops on employment-related topics such as harassment investigations, violence in the workplace, and hiring and firing issues.


Katelin M. Meehan
Kate has close to eight years of claims experience in the EPL and condo/HOA areas, and has spent the past three and a half years focusing on condo/HOA claims.  She has handled claims for associations nationwide and really enjoys the variety of issues that become the subject and focus of the claims she handles.
